Sophie Smith Fund

On Saturday 17th March 2018, Mel Koch will be representing the Sophie Smith Fund and participating in the World’s Greatest Shave, which raises funds for the Leukaemia Foundation.

Mel’s motivation for participating in the World’s Greatest Shave event this year is because in January 2018, her uncle (Colin) passed away from Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Colin and his wife Ann were amazing hosts and supported us all in Sydney during Sophie’s treatment and we are devastated that another dearly loved member of our family has died as a result of this insidious disease.

The Sophie Smith Fund was established within the Fremantle Foundation in 2014 to honour our cherished daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend Sophie Smith, who passed away in April 2014 after a 20 month struggle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Variety raises funds through the sale of the hair which is then used to provide equipment and services to children in need.

Mel’s fundraising goal is $5000. We hope you will help us smash this target by donating to this amazing fund.
